I haven’t done the best job at posting on a regular basis. Ok, I guess that it somewhat of an understatement…I haven’t done it at all. But I am going to be more faithful to keep posting frequently so that
1. everyone can know where we are in the process of adopting
2. everyone can know how to pray for us
3. I can share all that the Lord is teaching us through this process – an honest account
Right now we have our “packet” to get together. It involves finding things that haven’t been seen for 12 years (who knows where our marriage license is?), scrapbooking some pages for our profile (now that is up my alley), writing autobiographies, writing “dear birthmother” letters…… Honestly, it is all a little overwhelming, but one step at a time.
The hardest part of the “packet” to fill out is the Infant Acceptance Form. Basically it is a checklist that states what type of baby you will & won’t take. While we understand the necessity of this list (to match birthmothers to prospective profiles to choose from), we are hesitant to rush into filling this out. We want the baby that God has for us & we have NO idea what that looks like right now. So, you can be praying for guidance in completing that part of the packet.
For those who don’t know, after we submit our “packet”, our homestudy will be completed and our profile will be shown to birthmothers. We are trusting God for his perfect timing in all of this, from filling out every paper, to financing the process. God has so much he wants to teach us, so far that he wants to grow our FAITH!!
Hebrews 11:1 “FAITH is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things that we cannot see.”
Yes God…..grow our FAITH!!
