Exactly 6 months ago today the lives of everyone in the Feldman family changed forever! I don’t think that we will ever forget that call…that Kacie was on the way to the hospital and in labor! After months of praying and waiting, today was the day for this precious boy to be born! For those of you who may not know, Kacie is our precious birth mother.
Today we celebrate Isaac’s life, and God’s sovereignty! You may be wondering why the big deal about 6 months? Six months indicates the end of our “supervisory period”. We can officially get a court date to finalize Isaac’s adoption. Nothing really will change about our family…Isaac has been a Feldman since the day we brought him home! But still, it is an exciting time!
Isaac will have a new “official” last name and birth certificate!
Just as exciting to us, we will get to see Kacie next week for a visit. She hasn’t seen Isaac, except through pictures and videos, since he was a week old. There is a big difference in holding a 6# baby and a 20# smiling wiggly baby! I get chills just thinking about it!
Kacie is one of the most amazing selfless women I know. She has spent countless nights crying herself to sleep, missing the baby she carried within her for almost 9 months. Yet, she always speaks to how much she appreciates Chris & I! When we feel like she gave us her most precious gift, she is thanking us?
We pray for our relationship to grow with Kacie. We want to be as “open” with our relationship as the Lord asks us to be. We want our confidence to remain in His bigness, and never let fear take hold of our hearts. Our friends have an amazing relationship with their birth mom, and we pray for the level of “openness” that they experience. You can read their story here….it is an amazing testimony of God’s bigger plan!
On April 22 a beautiful baby boy was born…our son…Isaac Joshua! We became a family of 6, and yet so much more! The Lord added Kacie to our family. Isaac’s adoption story is so much bigger than our adding another chair to our kitchen table. We know that the Lord has big things in store. Ultimately we are praying for Kacie's salvation!
Thank you Lord for a precious, healthy baby! Thank you Lord for Kacie and all that our relationship with her and her family will bring.
Col 2:6-7 “ So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
